Subject: Racing Applications for Power Converters

> _________________________________________
> When did you purchase / acquire the unit?

> August 2000
> Do you remember which one it was?
 > 95355 Voltage stabilizer
 > How did you use it in the car?
I used it to provide a constant voltage to the car's ignition system.
 > Did you have an difficulty installing the unit into the car?
No. The car is race only. The interior, dash, door panels, etc. have been
removed. There are lots of flat spaces for mounting the unit.

What were you expecting it to do?

I wanted it to provide good power to the car's ignition. It is a drag race
car and I usually run without an alternator. The length of time that the
engine is running usually about 10 to 15 minutes.

Where you / are you satisfied with the benefits of the unit?
>Yes.

> Why?
 > The engine would misfire when the battery voltage started getting low, before. Now it runs without missing a beat.

> Are you still using it?
 > Yes. The upcoming racing season begins June 15th. It will be used at every race. It is permanently installed.

 > Was the size / weight of the product a consideration when you acquired the unit?
 >No. But it is fairly large and I think it would present a problem to some racers. The so-called "weekend warriors". They have street/srip cars with full interiers and not as much available space as I had. Weight is not too bad, but you should realize that some racers are maniacs about weight reduction.

 > Do you feel that you have a good value for dollar from the unit?
 > Yes I do.

 > Have you recommended the product to anyone?
 > Yes. I have shown it to several people, explained how it works and there seems to be some interest.

 > Do you have any other comments regarding the unit?
 >It is well made and is reliable. My race car has a large and powerful V8 engine. It produces about 600 horsepower measured at the crank. There is a lot of vibration, a lot of heat and fairly high G forces when the car launches off the starting line. (And I am trying for a lot more!)

 > What kind of motor sport are you involved in?
 > 1/4 mile drag racing. I race in a handicap system called bracket racing. My best elapsed time to date is 10.02 seconds with a best speed of 134.96MPH.

 > How long have you been involved in racing?
 > Since 1972.

 > Is this sport / professional / semi pro-racing?
 > No. It is just a hobby.

 > Do you have any other comments that you would like to add?
 > Yes. This is a good quality product that solves the needs of many different kinds of racing. It is essential that a vehicles electrical demands, especially for fuel, cooling and ignition are well met. The power supply needs to be reliable, constant and totally consistent. This is really true in drag racing where consistentcy wins. I've seen other solutions to the problem that are downright cumersome. One is a special 16volt battery. It requires a special 16volt battery charger and it requires electrical equipment that can run on a range of 16-17 volts to about 12 volts. The voltage in such a system starts to decline as soon as the car is switched on. So, consistency is harder to acheive. There is one of these systems in the car that is pitted directly across from my pit. It looks like a pain in the butt. It is far more expensive that the Analytic unit and if any one compnoent fails, there's not a replacement to be found within a thousand miles. If his battery fails he must have a 16 volt battery. At least if my Analytic or my battery were to fail I still have plenty of options.

Lisa, please call or email me if I can be of any further assistance.

Regards,

Con Dunphy

PS. Here's a pic of my car from a couple of years ago when it was running about 10.40's and had a slight bit of body roll on launching. It now leaves level with the wheels up.  am forecasting ET's in the 9.80's.
