Systems Ware Ltd. (ASW) was founded in 1976 by Lloyd Hargrove.
Over the years the company designed a number of voltage conversion
products, as well as custom designs of all sorts for a wide
variety of customers. one of the products designed was a marine
autopilot. In 1983, a new company was created to build and market
the autopilot. Jim Hargrove, who had recently graduated university,
moved to the new company CompuNav Systems, as part owner.
CompuNav Systems, now ComNav
Marine, is very successful, with worldwide recognition as
a leader in autopilot technology. Most of the autopilot models
and other support products presently marketed by the company
were developed under the leadership of Jim Hargrove, who has
been called as important to autopilot technology as, "Galileo
was to astronomy." (Pacific Fishing, May 2000, pg.
44) In 1993, Mr. Hargrove sold his share of ComNav and re-joined
ASW, which was reformed as Analytic Systems Ware (1993) Ltd.
